Shakuhachi + Leather

Yesterday, history was made. I purchased my first ever leather jacket. In case you can't tell, I am beyond excited! What has felt like an eternal search is finally over. I am sure there will be others in my life in the years to come, but this first one is already so special, and it's not even here yet. I adore the contoured shoulders with subtle quilting; the wide collar that looks just as edgy zipped up as it does undone and open, and the skinny sleeves just look so comfortable. Oh, and it's leather.
The mind works in mysterious ways, because earlier this week I was complaining that I couldn't find a nice leather jacket that was within my strict price range (I was hunting for a bargain, to be completely honest. And I was probably kidding myself). But I guess love at first sight is priceless, because when I spotted this Shakuhachi quilted biker jacket style on Green with Envy's online store, my budget suddenly increased without hesitation...luckily it was on sale! (Such magic words, aren't they?)

I never thought I would say this, but I just cannot wait to go to work on Monday! I think I might even hug the courier...

Although most of these photos show the burgundy colour, and I am obsessed with burgundy (though I'm sure you couldn't possibly know that...), I actually decided to go with the black, as I tend to wear a lot of colour anyway, and I simply wanted to have a classic black leather jacket to throw on over anything and everything.

The style is more classic than the Nicholas two-toned Chelsea Biker Jacket, but more detailed and edgy than your average black leather biker. A great feature is the semi-cropped length, which will complement my array of high waisted skirts, shorts and jeans, and also suit my small height!

We are going to be very, very happy together.
