Weekend antics of late

As the owner of an Android operated phone, I've only recently acquired Instagram. It certainly didn't take long for the addiction to set in! I finally feel like I'm 'in' on the big secret iPhone users have been keeping for the last couple of years.

According to my Instagram page, all I seem to do is drink coffee and bask around in the sun! This is true for the weekends, at least. Here are a few hipster-filtered snapshots of recent happenings...

Afternoon Delight in Le Jardin Secret

Combining the freshness of a cold glass of homemade lemonade, the natural beauty of a flower-filled yard, and a touch of magic from the garden of little girls' imaginations; Camilla & Marc's Le Jardin Secret SS12 collection weaves a story of afternoon delight in a secret garden.

A tasty visual cocktail of colours, the palette features crisp lemon, white, taupe, fuchsia, grass green florals, berry red, coral, striking iris blue and cool mint.

These breathtaking designs will be available from mid-July at Frockshop. It's a collection best viewed in its entirety, so feast your eyes on all 73 pieces...

Geometric shapes; stripes and digital prints; kaleidoscopic designs; metallic and sequins; perspex heels and silver details. I am lusting over all of these things right now. You can find most of these items on Net-a-porter, here

I discovered the gorgeous Chanel Geometric Clutch and the Lanvin Eagle Choker whilst perusing the pages of French Vogue earlier this week...which is just further proof that I am a dreamer! I'll rest assured that learning the flirty French language is on my To Do List. Even if it is only to understand the beautiful words on the pages of French fashion magazines!

Hope you're all staying indoors wrapped in cosy knits if you, too, are braving Brisbane's cold snap!

Shakuhachi + Leather

Yesterday, history was made. I purchased my first ever leather jacket. In case you can't tell, I am beyond excited! What has felt like an eternal search is finally over. I am sure there will be others in my life in the years to come, but this first one is already so special, and it's not even here yet. I adore the contoured shoulders with subtle quilting; the wide collar that looks just as edgy zipped up as it does undone and open, and the skinny sleeves just look so comfortable. Oh, and it's leather.
The mind works in mysterious ways, because earlier this week I was complaining that I couldn't find a nice leather jacket that was within my strict price range (I was hunting for a bargain, to be completely honest. And I was probably kidding myself). But I guess love at first sight is priceless, because when I spotted this Shakuhachi quilted biker jacket style on Green with Envy's online store, my budget suddenly increased without hesitation...luckily it was on sale! (Such magic words, aren't they?)

I never thought I would say this, but I just cannot wait to go to work on Monday! I think I might even hug the courier...

Although most of these photos show the burgundy colour, and I am obsessed with burgundy (though I'm sure you couldn't possibly know that...), I actually decided to go with the black, as I tend to wear a lot of colour anyway, and I simply wanted to have a classic black leather jacket to throw on over anything and everything.

The style is more classic than the Nicholas two-toned Chelsea Biker Jacket, but more detailed and edgy than your average black leather biker. A great feature is the semi-cropped length, which will complement my array of high waisted skirts, shorts and jeans, and also suit my small height!

We are going to be very, very happy together.

Lulu in Chains

After a night of online window shopping, I discovered this label from Sydney, called Lulu in Chains. Considering the fact that I simply adore off the shoulder styles, and am something of a frill-seeker when it comes to dresses and skirts, I am head over heels for these flirty dresses and ruffled skirt / fitted bodice designs!

The design aesthetic reminds me a little bit of early collections by Story by Tang, and Cooper St.

It's been a while since I've really LOVED a dress, and this brand is doing well because I love the entire collection! The names given to the dress styles are sweet and suitable, with names like "Angelic Brutality", "Raw Refinement", "Bittersweet Vengeance", "Sinister Innocence", "Faithless Belief", and so on. They convey the duality and contradictory characteristics that compose a modern woman's personality - all at once, she is both sweet and seductive; elegant and rebellious; the wild child, and the girl next door.

I love the choice of models and location for the photoshoot, too.
